Project Overview
The SKYE project sought to strengthen youth’s access to justice and equip them with market-driven skills and attitudes to improve their ability to transition to the workforce. Making Cents assisted in the development of the Guyana Youth Business Trust (GYBT) entrepreneurship curriculum and mentoring program materials. These materials were used by coaches to transfer key employment skills to at-risk youth, including financial literacy, customer service, marketing, and business planning, in order to facilitate the reintegration of youth offenders into society and the workplace. Our entrepreneurial and business management training resulted in at-risk youth within the GYBT developing their own business proposals, which were then funded through collateral free loans.
