Senior Manager,

Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit

Responsibilities:

 

In your role as Senior Manager, Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit you will lead the full cycle development and implementation of Making Cents’ annual Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit. You will use your excellent project management skills to execute a thoughtful and well-planned industry-leading Summit. Your interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build alliances and represent Making Cents and the Summit effectively to diverse potential sponsors, speakers, and partners. To advance the Summit’s continuous learning approach, you will digest and then appropriately incorporate internal and external inputs into the Summit’s vision and implementation. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, small business environment.
 

 
Principle Responsibilities:
  • With senior leadership, develop the learning objectives and framework for the Summit

  • Develop fundraising material and conduct Summit fundraising in collaboration with senior leadership.

  • Research, engage, and develop partnerships with members of the private, public, and non-governmental sectors to gain their involvement in and support of the Summit.

  • Manages Summit partnerships so that they receive appropriate benefits and recognition for their contributions.

  • Arrange meetings with and give presentations to current and potential partners.

  • Continue to build and manage the Global Advisory Committee in support of the Summit.

  • Develop, contribute to, and oversee targeted outreach and engagement efforts that lead to Summit workshop proposal submissions, registrations and speakers.

  • Develop messaging with senior leadership and oversees translation into communications and marketing materials (e.g., e-blasts, banner stands, flyers, and program)

  • In conjunction with subject-matter experts, provide coaching and technical guidance to Summit presenters to ensure practical, high-quality workshops that lead to sessions that incorporate concrete and tangible learning lessons.

  • Develop and implement the Summit’s logistics plan.

  • Contribute to and implement the Summit’s M&E framework, updating existing tools and contributing to new tools as needed/desired.

  • Manage an Associate and Fellow, providing appropriate guidance, feedback, and opportunity for professional growth.

  • Oversee and contribute to updating and implementation of Summit communications strategy.

  • Oversee the monthly YouthEconomicOpportunities.org bulletin and portal that highlights priority topics related to increasing economic opportunities for youth

  • Oversee the YouthEconomicOpportunities.org learning hub and webinar series so they leverage relationships and content from Summit and provide a learning platform that strengthens the youth economic opportunities field.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Five years’ progressively responsible professional experience, of which at least two years entail program, events or project management

Demonstrated ability to fundraise

Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and external stakeholders

Ability to work in the US without sponsorship
