Our Team

Leadership Team

Our leadership team collectively brings more than 80 years of international development experience. We have expertise in a broad range of technical areas, including capacity building, value chain strengthening, youth and workforce development, entrepreneurship, financial and social inclusion, and monitoring and evaluation. Throughout our professional careers, we have served in various management capacities – from Chiefs of Party and Directors on complex USAID programs; to business development leaders implementing major growth initiatives; to senior technical and operations directors ensuring contractual, financial, and technical soundness of projects. We are excited to work with you in our shared efforts to improve the lives of people throughout the world.  

Tim Nourse

President

Tim has focused most of his 20-year career on the financial and economic inclusion of vulnerable and underserved populations. He has managed microfinance institutions and country-wide inclusive finance programs; designed economic recovery programs for refugees and IDPs; and developed economic inclusion programs for youth, women, and smallholder farmers. At Making Cents, Tim serves as President, managing Making Cents' overall operations and implementing the company-wide strategic plan. Beyond international development, Tim is part of the local food movement, supporting the growth of his family’s 300-year old farm in Massachusetts.

Dr. Christy Olenik

Vice President, Technical Services

In her 25-year career, Christy has designed, implemented, and evaluated holistic youth programs for multiple donors, local governments, and private foundations in the US and internationally. As Vice President, Technical Services, she is responsible for technical leadership, service delivery, business development, and strategy around positive youth development programming. Christy also serves as Making Cents’ Project Director for the USAID-funded YouthPower: Evidence and Evaluation IDIQ. She is passionate about providing opportunities for youth success and for building the capacity of the systems around them.

Hillary Proctor

Director, Technical Services

Hillary is experienced in developing rural livelihoods and building the capacity of project partners. At Making Cents, Hillary provides assistance to agriculture, youth, and microfinance projects through assessments, curriculum development, and trainings. Prior to this, she worked on value chain, youth savings and lending, and eco-tourism projects throughout West Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, including in conflict-affected environments. She also served as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia. When Hillary is not working, she fulfills her passion for agriculture through her home-based poultry business and working on local cattle ranches.

Tijana Dabic

Chair, Board of Directors

Vice President, Business Development

Tijana is a seasoned development professional with comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of business development, from strategic planning, partnership building, and competitive positioning, to capture planning, technical writing, and proposal management. She has led more than 100 proposals for USAID and other clients that have resulted in $1.7 billion in revenue. At Making Cents, she oversees the company's Board and facilitates growth by securing new business, contributing to the overall strategy and vision, and leading external communications and marketing. Tijana enjoys competition (especially when she’s winning) and spends too much time watching tennis and following election coverage.

Susan Masse

Member, Board of Directors

Vice President, Projects and Operations

Susan has more than fifteen years´ program management experience in the international development field. She brings to Making Cents a depth of experience in  strategic program management, including work planning, budgeting, financial management, forecasting, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting. She also has a keen eye for detail and relishes the opportunity to use her analytical skills to tease out solutions to program implementation challenges. Susan holds a master´s degree in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.
