Food Production, Processing & Marketing (FPPM) Project
Democratic Republic of Congo
The FPPM project helped the DRC achieve food security by improving the production, processing, and marketing of staple foods by smallholders and small and medium-sized enterprises in the provinces surrounding the country’s largest urban market, Kinshasa. Making Cents contributed to these efforts by developing experiential learning-based materials aimed at building relevant technical, entrepreneurial, financial literacy, and agribusiness skills for smallholder producers and other key value chain actors. We worked to with local organizations and enterprises working in the select value chains to institutionalize their training and capacity building methodologies to ensure sustainability and linked farmers to village savings and credit for banking and refinancing.
